* We do not advertise our rental listings on individual personal Facebook or Craigslist account pages. We have a Facebook Business Page where we may post our listings and other pertinent rental information.
* We will not ask for money upfront to hold an apartment or house. You may put a deposit down if you so desire after the application is approved or there is a pending approval notification or a signed lease.
* We will not ask you to wire money or refuse to show the property in person.
* We will not ask you to send funds via apps like Cash App, Venmo, or Zelle.
* If the advertised leasing price is too good to be true, or the rental price is a few hundred dollars less or significantly lower than other properties in the area, then these could be signs of a scammer's fake ad.
Watch for these and other suspicious red flags. If you suspect fraud, contact the local authorities right away.
